Reviews Artist: Circa SurviveTitle: On Letting Go Label: Equal Vision Records Artistically, the band is a 10 in perfection and quality. From the first listen, you can tell that Circa Survive poured every bit of creativity they could muster, producing something lasting that would communicate beauty in all forms... from the sleeve art right down to the lyrics.. “And infinite silence/And we fall asleep again with ties to mend so please/Let the cleaning begin with evolution/Hold my breath until communication is only just a test,” And passing the test they did with a 10, in a unique style of echoing enchanting rhythms, signature to Circa Survive. Circa Survive met at a Burning Man festival a year and a half ago, loving the night life, dancing, and delving into the depths of new arenas. The band consists of Anthony Green (vocals), Colin Frangicetto (guitar), Brendan Ekstrom (guitar), Nick Beard (bass), and Steve Cliffard (drums). Together they recorded three albums which would include, The Inuit Sessions, Jutuma, and On letting Go - all Equal Vision Record releases. Taken from the Equal Vision records website, “In early 2007 Circa Survive, recorded their magical new album, On letting Go with producer Brian McTernan (Thrice, Strike Anywhere, Hot Water Music) at his Salad Days Studios in Baltimore, MD. The beautiful new recording presents Circa Survive in a brand new light. It shows a band that has become more comfortable with themselves, a band that has developed naturally, and a band with endless confidence... it shows a band that has truly let go.” Track four, The Difference Between Medicine and Poison is the Dose, is a personal poesy favorite:
A splendid, well formed, album with a unique quality that is hard to find in today’s “jump on the bandwagon” market. Carry Us Away Circa Survive with your next release we are anxiously awaiting it’s birth - hopefully this one is a boy! User reviews There are no user reviews for this item.
