Luther Vandross and Pebo Bryson, ladies! That is the smoothest it will ever come for R&B. Fuck Chris Brown or JT(both great entertainers, however). You also got to pop in some love for those undulating underdogs, the Chi-lites. Oh yes, the Spinners get on that list of R&B greatness too! The Spinners were a well-oiled R&B machine, mind you. Al Greene and Marvin Gaye, hop on board too. Damn it, Jackie Wilson, I'm almost forgot you, and your inspired yelps of passion.

And for the only white man to make my list of R&B greatness... the late great Chris Whitley. Check this man out! He's got chops that make you think Reginald Val Johnson's on the other end of your head phones.

Yes, I've missed a great deal of amazingness and really didn't shout out any ladies that contributed heavily to R&B, but that's why we've got the forum. Make me look ignorant. I don't care. Hey, I'm just easy like that; easy like a sunday morning. LIONEL!
