So I guess it's going to have to be me.

My favorite band is a little known group from England called Marillion. They've been around for about 24 years and I've been a crazed fan for about 22 of them. Few in th US really seem to know who they are, but those of us who do are a pretty tight club. This is progressive rock at its finest, with lush and well-crafted music overlaid by deep and meaningful lyrics... they're a band that has withstood the test of time and one which has never, ever crafted their music for anybody other than their fans. In this day of quick bucks and the lure of a meteoric rise to fame and fortune for those who are willing to reinvent themselves on a regular basis (read: Madonna), bands who exist solely for their fans are a very rare breed indeed!
