My favorite groups are Muse and Rage Against the Machine, because in the case of Muse, the compositions of the songs are so well done especially on Absolution, an album that floored me on first listen. Matt Bellamy is an amazing vocalist and a great piano p_layer_, and there's overall awesome work done with the songs.
Rage is more that they always fit my rock quotient. All of their songs have a unique moment where they just go balls out and it's just awesome. Their political ideology is pretty flawed and if you've listened to one Rage album, you've listened to them all, but I love them because they have amazing musical consistancy. |

Okay, I don't know about ya'll, but i just love a lot of different bands, for different reasons.
I cannot live without 3 Doors Down, who's latest Cd which came out May 20th, (I got it the first day it came out), has been playing in my cd p_layer_ and mp3 p_layer_ since I got it, is simply the best they have had in years. Their lyrics have delved into more of a personal account than before and definitely makes you get into the music. I think the next single from them will definitely be "runaway"....its a pretty bad ass cd, with the guitars and drums, you can defnitely hear them out on this cd, though it does have a lot of slower songs, which bring such a calming ease, and leaves you craving for more. They have become and have been a favorite of mine for years.
_link_in Park is another band that I love. I love all their music, from Hyrid Theory to Minutes to Midnight. I love M2M becuase not only does it show _link_in Park at its coolest, but shows they are versatile. Who else can do that? Not many bands can pull off different sounds and still manage to sound like themselves. Then not only that, but they did a song with Busta Rhymes(not on any of thier cds) called "we made it".....Check it out and the video to it too. It's a really cool song. I love LP and will continue to support them. (i like the way Mike Shinoda changes his rap _style_ a bit in M2M)
Stone Sour, I'm sorry, but if you are going to have the lead singer, Corey Taylor from Slipknot, in your band, you might as well already be considered a hit maker. His voice goes just as well with this band. THeir song, probably most hear is "Through Glass" or Bother, but with other songs like "Come Whatever may"(cd name) then you will definitely get the guitar riffs and his vocals. It's a fast paced song that really gets the emotion going. Gotta give Taylor and bandmates for re-uniting again. THey got some really good stuff.
I also absolutely adore Eyes Set to Kill. They are going to make it big time. With Alexia's vocals and the screamer, i know the band will make it big. They rock live. They use teh stage, and you can feel how its for the fans(Music should always be about the fans). Anissa, bassist, plays it well. Though she may be a girl, obviously, she sure does outshine some guys in bands. I love the bass in their songs. Defniitely comes out strong and makes a sound. The way they incorporate the keyboards in certain songs in certain places make the music kinda eerie. But I love it. THey are bringing back the screamo sound with more than screaming words no one can understand, but a melodic tune and lyrics that make a person wonder. (Listen to their songs "Reach" and "Where we Started") |
