I don’t really listen to Christian rock, but I’m open to anything. I popped the CD into my stereo and immediately liked what I heard. Lead singer Sara Acker’s voice sounded like a cross between Gwen Stefani and Jessica Simpson. Each song has heart and soul and sends a message of faith and hope. The lyrics are beautifully simple and the instrumental music complements the words perfectly. Love is a fun album that is full of heart.

A few of the songs were really energetic and snappy. We Will Live is the first track on Love and it really sets a great mood for the rest of the disc. It has a pop-rock sound and a really fun vibe. Tracks like Hush and Respect reminded me of Gwen Stefani songs. Are You With Me is another up tempo song that I can imagine would be great to see performed live. To balance out the up-tempo stuff, there are some moving and heart filled slow songs too. Love begins with an acoustic guitar that Acker’s voice really fits with. Love builds to the chorus perfectly as the other instruments come in. And finally, Song to the Fatherless is a beautifully written, simple acoustic song that has a powerful impact.

In 2003 the band formed and released Interview. In July 2005 Fervent Records released the band’s label debut CD Revolution. Now with a few new band members Inhabited’s new album Love is a really good effort. Check it out.
