Reviews Artist: NebelnestTitle: Nova Express Label: Cuneiform However, Neblenest (the correct spelling is actually NeBeLNeST, but we'll give our withered spell-check a break...) are an improvisational foursome that have globbed the dramatic portions of the '70's artrock/krautrock sonics, splattered it with some '80s noise rock residue and then rendered it with a ‘90s post-math spin. By educating themselves along prog rock’s timeline, Nebelnest offer a music that roars with spirit and emotion, but churns with a rougher, modern edge. Ideally, the band’s technical slant will amaze other players, yet the music’s organic presentation may find a few friends among the jam camp realm. Fans of King Crimson's Red period might be the most interested clients here, however, since Neblenest use that album's driving force and solo tangents as a foundation for their work. Nebelnest are a progressive band that is moving forward instead of just chasing their own tale.
