Artist: BT
Title: R&R
Label: Nettwerk Records
The "BT" is for Brian Transeau, a cutting-edge wunderkind in the realm of Electronic music. His remixing firepower can be heard criss-crossing through the digital underground and mainstream Pop music as well as creating his own instrumental and solo programming products that stand in close rank to the best in global breakbeat and production talent.

"R&R" features "Rare & Remixed" pieces spanned across six years and two discs, spotlighting BT's genre jumping appeal through dazzling dance mixes and collaborative efforts with the likes of Paul Van Dyk, Mike Oldfield, Sasha and Seal. The tracks, tantalizing from the onset, beginning with BT's own "Remember," form a continuously flowing stream of sound and light, illuminating the imagination with a spiritually moving presence and sonic pulsations.

While the highlights come at a fever pitch, of particular interest on disc two which spotlights Transeau's earlier "Movement In Still Life" project, include BT's "Sunblind," featuring the sensual vocals of Jan Johnston, the cybernetic warbling of "Smartbomb," "Blue Skies" featuring the angelic voice of Tori Amos, and "I Love You," a BT-mixed Sarah McLachlan track that simply transcends all earthly boundaries.

Yet the overall appeal to this 22 track collection comes back to BT's burning ambitions as a creator/composer whose ability to draw every last ounce of energy, whether angling to the emotional extreme, or setting the dance floor ablaze, his technical capacity gains in momentum and signals a fast moving future, revealed on this stunning compilation.
