Title: Made Gold Part I
Label: Made

Here is an album comprised of ten tracks; two remixes per song; five songs total, in the traditional sense.  All artists featured on Made: Gold Part I are home-based at the Made record label.

Made Records is a label known primarily as the pusher-man of club friendly artists and remixes.  On Part 1 we’ve got Jimmy James, iio, and Nymph.  Yeah, I’ve never heard of any of them.  Call me ignorant.  Whatever.

Essentially, none of these Made mainstay artists have had “goldies” in the United States, with one exception (iio’s Is It Love/ Starkillers Third Street Remix) that hit Billboard’s No. 1 spot at some point in recent months.  Other than that track, which is included on this “sampler”, none of the other tracks are anything to write home about.  Jimmy James is an interesting, if not freakishly homoerotic, artist on his new JAMESTOWN album that I checked out right after receiving this, but, alas none of that gushy, Dr. Frankenfurter vibe is apparent here.  Since the best song, Is it Love comes first on this album, you really can turn it off shortly afterwards.

However, I know guys and girls that’ll eat the rest of this shit up while swatting glowsticks in a smoky, burned out club or apartment.  I’m just not a heavy club music listener.  My opinion is skewed in that sense, so take it for what it’s worth. Made:  Gold, Part I just does nothing for me.  Get me some Prodigy, Oakenfold, Van Dyke, Tiesto and we’ve got a different story.  This stuff just seems a little bland to the casual listener, that’s all.  No hate, just indifference.
