Artist: Olivea Watson
Title: Way Down Deep
Label: Ramblin' Rose Records

Within the few seconds, the folk and bluesy feel of Olivea Watson’s album Way Down Deep gets right to the core of her soul. The first song on the album, Let Go, was written in response to her questioning faith but is now the anthem for War Child International, a group dedicated to helping children caught up in the horrors of war. That alone is reason enough to support this Indie singer’s music and cause, not to mention the fact that her voice captures the essence of today’s modern woman. Her songs address not only her life’s struggles, but also the problems faced by women all over the world.

This singer-songwriter, guitarist, and violinist is making quite an impact in the Indie scene with her band “The Unsung Heroes”. They’ve played together all over the country, spreading their cause to those who will help. Watson is also the winner of the Gibson New Artist Award, an accomplishment that shouldn’t be taken lightly. With millions of myspace hits a day, she’s sure to be the next Colbie Caillat.

This album is definitely something anyone could listen to while in their car with the window down the wind blowing. Watson has such a relaxing and jamming sound, you can’t help but groove to her music.
