Reviews Artist: Chris VolzTitle: Redemption Label: Rock Ridge Music The first time I listened to Redemption by Chris Volz I thought it was all right. However, the more I listened to it and learned the lyrics, the more I liked this CD. There are a couple songs on Redemption that I find myself singing, even when I'm not listening to the CD. In particular, these songs are Dear Life and Don't Save Me. Dear Life is a toe-tapping song that combines Volz’s staccato singing style with his melodic vocals. It’s a song I would listen to on a bad day to help me get through it. Don’t Save Me on the other hand is a somber song and my personal favorite. Volz’s vocals conjure the feelings of hopelessness he sings about in this song. Another track I really enjoyed was All My Life, which is an up-tempo song with a solid rock sound. According to Volz’s Web site Redemption is his first album as a solo artist. However, he has been a member of the bands FLAW and Five.Bolt.Main. FLAW was where Volz began his music career and with them he released two albums. The band broke up in late 2004, but they have reunited with a recent tour of the Midwestern US. Overall Redemption is a good album. It may have taken a couple of plays before I really got into it, but then again I’m like that with most of my favorite artists...User reviews There are no user reviews for this item.
