Reviews Artist: TrinaTitle: Diamond Princess Label: Atlantic Records A protégée of Rap maestro Trick Daddy, Trina has the skills and lyrical prowess to may finally put her in the league of her hardcore contender’s Lil’ Kim and Foxy Brown.
While Diamond Princess could have fallen into the clichéd Hip-Hip formula with weaving curses and the worshiping of dead presidents throughout the songs, she has shrewdly added some other talent to her mix. Wisely calling on Missy Elliott for the groove-laced "Rhyme that Back," and one hit wonder Tweet (who had earlier this year given us “Oops, Oh My,” a Hip-Hop alternative to the Divinyls I “Touch Myself”) who gives adds a softer touch to the self explanatory “No Panties."
