Title: Re-Up
Label: Shelter Music Group
Coma Doses' "Re-up" is a killer album that has all the elements a modern metal band should. As for comparisons, "Re-up" is most closely a combination of Snot and Godsmack with a hint of Sevendust. Original and inspired lyrics line the booklet of this not-so-run-of-the-mill album. At first glance Coma Dose may appear to be yet another six member Rap-Core group with the talent of a four-piece - not the case. It's obvious that these guys are talented, and they mean business. All the electronic elements are well used and really add to the music, unlike most bands with "DJ's" these days.

Despite "Re-Up" only having seven tracks, the songs are well done. Seven good songs are better than 12 bad songs any day. "Buzzkill", the opening track, is an aggressive Rap-Core song with driving rhythm's and an in-your-face chorus. The DJ samples layered behind the guitar tracks are also very well done. This pace is sustained all the way through the album, leaving you sweating just imagining the mosh pits at their live show. Speaking of which, the song "Slam Pig" is an obvious anthem for moshing and is sure to be a crowd favorite.

It's a shame there are so many groups hopping on the Rap-Core band wagon these days. A band like Coma Dose is sure to have a hard road ahead of them. They're going to have to fight their way through countless imitation bands to find success; however, I believe they have what it takes. "Re-Up" is what a Rap-Core album should be.
