Title: The Wash (OST)
Label: Interscope Records
The most recent project of rap mogul Dr. Dre, the motion picture soundtrack 'The Wash', may have as much trouble staying afloat as the movie. Despite appearances from such superstars as Bubba Sparxxx, Busta Rhymes, D12 (led by Eminem), Xzibit, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre himself, this collection of songs wouldn't do any movie justice.
The few highlights include D12s' 'Blow My Buzz', Busta Rhymes' 'Holla', and Snoop and Dres' 'The Wash'. The rest of the album is a combination of generic R&B clutter and uninspired raps about getting high. The wheel hasn't been reinvented. If you don't buy this album you're not missing anything big. My suggestion: go buy 'Genesis' by Busta Rhymes and leave this soundtrack alone.

If you're afraid you might be missing something with D12s 'Blow My Buzz', pick up their last album. I'm not sure, but I'd be willing to wager at least one of the tracks on that album are about getting high (I hope you're picking up on my sarcasm by now).

As 'The Wash' was no 'Friday' or 'Boyz in the Hood', its soundtrack is no masterpiece. It's merely reflecting the already somewhat stagnant rap industry.
