Reviews Artist: GregoriTitle: Easy as ABC Label: Self Released Filled with sensual emoting that strives to be hotter than Ricky Martin and all the 'N Sync boys combined, these songs carry enough appeal and professionalism to not be a complete embarrassment. Gregori mildly sizzles with genuine soulfulness and the kind of playful eroticism that can only come from someone still young enough and cocky enough to believe in his own hype. With tones that are easy to listen to (he has a competent breathy falsetto voice that will undoubtedly cull screams of joy from young girls everywhere), and danceable grooves enhanced by a sexual innocence, Gregori benefits primarily from simply being the new flavor on the scene. Yet, with only four tracks to critique, it's hard to make a well informed judgment call on this one. Suffice to say, Gregori's singing style is smothered in boyish charm ( albeit just a bit uneven), and his lyrics (written by Gregori himself) are simple and basic, backed by trend-following dance/pop beats that have a way of growing on you, along the lines of an uptempo Aaron Carter track. "…Whatever I feel for you is true/cuz everything I say leads back to you/It's your heart I want, your love that I need/ U make me complete....." So goes "U Make Me Complete", which is not to be outdone by "Blush" - .. "….My heart skips a beat when you are with me-I'm crushed/the way you love me makes me blush…." Wait. Is that uncontrollable passion I feel rising within me, or am I about to hurl? With Gregori, one can never be too sure. Now, while Gregori did not personally invent the gyrating, scream-inducing, young, pop music heart throb model, he pulls it off pretty well. Sufficiently sexy and alluring, his looks will hook listeners and his vocal style will keep them. At least until they catapult out of puberty and sink their fickle teeth into yet another hot number of the moment. So, while it lasts, Gregori can have his moment in the spotlight, that is, once the sweat dries off the lens and the air cools down. His music isn't groundbreaking by any stretch of the imagination, and although I hate to admit it - this dude is kinda smokin'! And for many a young pop music fan, that's more than enough.
