Artist: Gallucio
Title: All For You
Label: Self Released

Anthony Gallucio has been a star on the Philadelphia music scene for years. Finally, his debut album as simply Gallucio, All For You, gives him a chance to garner acclaim from the rest of the country.

First and foremost, Gallucio brings top notch guitar to the fold. It’s such a trademark that in 2001, he won the Philadelphia Music Award for “Guitar Player of the Decade.” From song to song, the guitar brings everything to life. And it’s not the same similar riffs either. The opening cut, California Jesus, sounds like something off a classic Bob Seger album. Some of the tracks have a slightly Latin flavor. Like Los Lonely Boys with balls. He really doesn’t fall into the trap of a lot of artists, finding one sound and sticking with it (cough…Nickelback…cough).

Outside of the stand out guitar work, Gallucio also does a good job with lyrics. Not quite your simple, middle school scribbling stuff (still looking at you Nickelback). There’s a spiritual thread through several of the songs, including the more subtle Something To Believe In and more overtly in the gospel song The Choir.

For better or worse, this album features a lot of different flavors. In particular, All For You appears as a reggae mix on the album and in a more conventional cut as a bonus track. Fans will more diverse tastes will enjoy the changing mood from song to song. You can hear rock, blues, and plenty of other influences depending on the track. Those that tend to bind themselves to one style might have a harder time to connecting to it. All For You should still be easily accessible to most listeners. Hopefully Gallucio can now take his guitar to acclaim around the world.

Repeat Track: California Jesus, All For You (Bonus Track)

Skip Track: All For You (Reggae)
