Reviews Artist: OffwhyteTitle: Mainstay Offwhyte offers an underground sound, a creative little background to groove to. Reminding me of an underground party where you can hardly see within a dark crowded room, or a mellow atmosphere of lounging with a drink in hand and casually mingling, Rain or Shine your friends are surely jealous that you were there and they weren’t. Can I get an 'I understand'... please raise your hand or write a review below. Taken from Mainstay (track one) a sample of the creativity you find on this album: I stay mainly in Chicago/home of the cynical and wise/Apex pinnacle of undue change and compromise/from the residence of middle America/no possible replica, no disguise/and I learn how to keep my shoulders cocked back/combat the attitude of people who speak matter of fact/so stop that/learn to navigate through the different people like Pisces/identity crises …most of the album contains this type of sound. Bargain for Fame is the second track on the album, a Jamaican style rap to relax to, while passing time. It goes something like: Instant clout delivered straight from the money river/trade off between virtues and breakthroughs/just overt the very forces that made you- as we move to the hook- down goes the devil with a vengeance/so let me feel your presence/if you’re in attendance…a catchy little swing. Fifteen songs of underground listening pleasure- a sound ready for an intelligent ear with quality lyrics that make you sit up and take note- A Promise (track eight) Mainstay has been around since 1999, since then he has released his first full-released album “Squints by Offwhyte”, next the “the Fifth Sun” in 2002, and the controversial “Bow to the Sceptor” EP in 2004. Original and uniquely perfect in his own way, Mainstay finally emerges this November 13, 2007 and I am happy to have tuned in to his cool styes and uniquliy unexpected sound! Next Time Around (track 15) I’ll be waiting! User reviews There are no user reviews for this item. Add new review Powered by jReviews |
