Title: A Looney Tunes Sing-Along Christmas
Label: Warner Bros. Entertainment

A title like A Looney Tunes Sing-Along Christmas is about as far from deceptive packaging as you can get. It’s out front: you should not be expecting a hidden track featuring a selection from the so-far unreleased CHINESE DEMOCRACY by Guns n’ Roses. Nope, what it says is what you get, which is basically KidzBop meets cartoon characters from the Warner Bros. stable around the Christmas tree.

As might be manifestly obvious, if you’re over the age of seven this isn’t going to do much for you , though Speedy Gonzales sings an unintentionally hilarious Felice Navidad. Otherwise Porky Pig sings Little Drummer Boy,  Bugs Bunny favors us with O Christmas Tree and the incredibly obnoxious Foghorn Leghorn is heard on Santa Claus Is Coming To Town and Up On The Housetop. All are joined by a children’s chorus, though cooler heads prevailed on Silent Night, which waits until the second verse to bring -- I swear to God -- Daffy duck into the mix. Is it somewhat sacrilegious? You bet! I would have stuck Elmer Fudd on there just for grins and giggles, but then I would probably also lose a really cool gig at Warner.

My one year old granddaughter loves A Looney Tunes Sing-Along Christmas, and I have a feeling that my son uses it to keep her quiet while he surfs the internet, but you get the idea. This one is strictly for the kids, and for that purpose it’s just fine.
