Reviews Artist: Parkway DriveTitle: Horizons Label: Epitaph Records First of all, what message are these boys trying to get out? I hear the screaming, and the melodic music. I honestly cannot understand a word, but all it takes is one trip to a lyrics website… Horizons begins with Begin and end with the title track, Horizons. The picture I keep getting is that of angry young people destroying something. Obviously, Parkway Drive knows how to play their music. They do not necessarily have a unique sound, but they do contribute well to their own genre. In the world of music, I would say they are definitely not one of the best. They are, although, a perfect addition to the already extremely popular Hardcore genre. I can see how some people would not enjoy hearing this, because not a word is clear; except for the occasional one that jumps out. Does someone want to argue that there is no point listening to this band? If they do, then they need to understand one thing: the people who choose to listen to music like this usually accommodate themselves to the volume, and learn what the music is actually saying to them. They do not need the words to enjoy the music. …Back to the lyrics: Cold, darkness, blood, failure. There is an audience out there that Parkway Drive is targeting, and it is not me; therefore, I actually cannot comment on the delivery of their message since it is not for me. I will say, however, they are delivering it. It must have a place for Hardcore fans, because what fan of that genre would not accept them? They are doing what they feel, and putting it out there for the people who feel the same. Good job, boys.User reviews
