Artist: B Rich
Title: 80 Dimes
Label: Atlantic Records

In the words of Bart Simpson, "I didn't think it was possible, but this [album] both sucks and blows." I shall take no mercy on the untalented and unaware and B Rich is by far both. This album just may be one of the worst albums EVER! I would give my worst enemy a rabid dog with lit dynamite tied to its neck before I ever subjected them, or anyone else, to the torture that is B Rich. The fact that he doesn't know that this album sucks, leads me to believe that he is either deaf or from another planet where his lame rapping is known as "keeping it real". Halfway through the majority of the songs I was off in my own world, thinking about other things like "does Third Watch come on tomorrow tonight?"

Although the entire album sucked, the best of the worst would have to be "Showtime". It had a good opening beat that was different but not different enough to give the song the boost that it needed. But I found that it's a good song to listen to while watching football. It just has that energy and liveliness that football is known for. The rapping itself was very mediocre and boring. And the lyrics, as with the rest of the tracks on the album, were tiresome.

The rest of the album consists of your classic southern style rapping but without the charisma of Nelly or the bounce of Ludacris. I'll admit that some of the songs were catchy but all in all they were still weak. On tracks like his debut single, "Whoa Now", "Friday" and "Eighty (All I Need)" he relies on appealing beats to keep the listener hooked needless to say, it didn't work. Again the lyrics are less than pleasing and on "We Goin' Ride" he recruits the help of a female singer to try to jazz up the track which, like everything else on this album, failed.

One of the best things on the album would have to be the "kamikaze album preview" by Twista. Being a fan of the lightning fast rapping skills of Twista and many other rappers, this was definitely something to look forward to. Unlike other tracks like "Same Pain", "Back to the Streets" and "Nightmares" where the rapping was so slow you thought that the song might never end.

To sum it all up, they were a handful of tracks on this album, which resorted in a handful of failures. I don't think that there is anything that can be done to help B Rich make a better album. His rapping is played out and this album is just trash. And he had the nerve to name it 80 dimes, you couldn't give me 8 pennies to listen to this again.
