"ACCESS to the MUSIC ZONE"

Greetings!

Spring has sprung - at least in some parts of the country - and it's time to update the old music collection with some of the exciting new releases that hit stores from mid-March through mid-April. Our Feature Artist, REAL McCOY'S new release, "One More Time," hit stores on March 25, 1997, and debuted on Billboard's Top 200 Album chart at number 90, with the single of the title track, "One More Time" coming in at number 29. After their 1995 debut album, "Another Night," went Platinum in only eight weeks, it looks like this follow up effort is already on it's way in that direction.

Our promised concert coverage of "Machine Head" has been delayed due to illness (of the Editor), but look for it when they swing back through the Southwest on their "official" tour.

This month's featured debuts are as far apart as you can get in the music business, but are equally interesting in their genres - R&B "nuFlavor," and hardcore/industrial "Killing Culture."

We have reviews of even more new music from several bands, with new Staff Writer Donn Jehs covering blues to a capella 60's rock, Robert Lewis introducing EVE, the new interactive CD Rom from Peter Gabriel, and a couple freelance writers contributing this month. Ace Frehely, former KISS guitarist has a "greatest hits" album with six previously unreleased live tracks, and six studio classics. You even get a souvenir guitar pick with the CD. Since we have some great guitarists we're covering this month, the "Linkster" surfed the net to bring you great guitar player links.

In Late Breaking News, look for live coverage and photos of the DESCENDENTS in concert - since the concert is the same day as we publish. We're also working on getting those tour dates posted for your favorite bands.

As always, we'd love some reader feedback, so please send your comments, questions, or anything else you can think of to ACCESS to the MUSIC ZONE at marellg@doitnow.com

We're receiving advance copies of all types of music on a daily basis now, some of which won't be released until Summer. Now we can get a head start on what's being released in the coming months. But, in the mean time, See You In Cyber Space!
