Title: Where Myth Fades to Legend
Label: Fearless Records
I’m pretty new to Alesana’s fan base and I think I came in at a good time. They have a lot more growing to do but this is the most developed sound I’ve heard from them yet. As they play with their sound on this disk we do get a few really good songs to jam to.

Alesana certainly stepped up for this Where Myth Fades to Legend. They rock all thirteen songs with tons of energy and plenty of screaming. This is a good example of just how versatile the four-year-old Alesana is. Every song has a different vibe and sound than their previous stuff, all-the-while staying true to Alesana’s classic chorus of vocals and toe-tapping double-bass beats. Milke, Thompson, and Ferguson wrote the lyrics for this album and definitely kept the creativity up and love-and-despair theme alive.

There is something for everyone on Where Myth Fades to Legend. You can sing along to the bouncy beats of Seduction and All Night Dance Parties in the Underground Palace. Then let your hair down and rock out to the harder hitting beats of Red and Dying Evening and Endings Without Stories. Alesana even plays with the rhythm and timing within a few tracks, and takes the catchy Seduction into a chill guitar and bass guitar jam for the last minute of the song. It’s a bit jarring at first—the rhythm change-up—but overall they do a good job keeping all the sounds cohesive. Finally, just when you think they have nothing left to give, track 13 brings us a piano duet to remember the painful love and devotion in the flick The Princess Bride titled As You Wish.

The album will have you tapping your feet, drumming on your steering wheel, and even trying out your screamo voice. If you like Alesana’s other stuff and you are supportive of them as a growing group I think you will be pleased by their newest adventure.
