Reviews Artist: Everyday SundayTitle: Wake Up! Wake Up! Label: inpop Records Christian Rock. Still with me? Good. A lot of people drop out as soon as they see the word “Christian.” I’m not a Christian, per se --- I’m spiritual, but not religious --- but listening to Christian rock isn’t going to hurt me, or you, anymore than listening to heavy metal. If it’s good music, no matter where it’s coming from, it’s worth listening to. And Everyday Sunday is worth listening to. And I’d say that even if they weren’t from my home town. WAKE UP! WAKE UP! by Everyday Sunday Is aimed right at the tween/teen market, topically and musically --- you could move tracks like “I’ll Get Over It (Miss Elaineous)” right onto Radio Disney without blinking an eye --- with a positive message that’s got just enough ambiguity in spots “From Me To You”) so as to make you forget that Everyday Sunday has a message they’re trying to get across. Catchy chord progressions, intriguing choruses, medium to fast tempos (except for “Tell Me You‘ll Be There,” a ballad), somewhere between pop and punk (but closer to pop)…there is nothing not to like here, unless you are offended by the word “Jesus” being used with reverence instead of as a profanity here and there. And yes, Everyday Sunday on the cover of the CD look intense but clean cut, and when my younger daughter comes of age, I hope she starts bringing home guys like these. Laugh if you want, but Hilary Duff would have been better off hanging with one of the dudes in Everyday Sunday than she was with that guy from Good Charlotte with the piercings, tattoos, and bad haircut. Ten tracks, all great, nothing fancy or complicated, just accessible music for any time of the day or night. And I guarantee you that no one is going to go bonkers and act out while they’re listening to it. Recommended. So there. User reviews There are no user reviews for this item.
