Title: Reflections of a Lost Reality
Label: Self Released
I can’t say that I was blown away by Reflections of a Lost Reality. The CD is divided in half; the first being more singles-oriented and the second, a four part concept.  I hate to admit that the concept was lost on me because I had a hard time hearing and understanding the lyrics. The vocals and instrumental music are average, not horrible but nothing amazing.

Most of the songs are kind of heavy and dark; I Don’t Care is an example of this. You can feel the anger of the song in the chorus, but the verses lack something. Let Me Go In sets the tone for the album. It is average and good, but nothing amazing.

I really enjoyed the song She’s the One. It was a simple and pretty song where all the pieces clicked. You can hear how rich LaMar’s vocal’s are.

In July 2005 Pat LaMar, Zach Novak and Joe Wolford, who were high school friends, got together and started writing music. Soon they enlisted Derek Tuttle for back up vocals and bass guitar. They released their first CD , A Past Left Behind, late in September 2006. Reflections of a Lost Reality is their second CD, which they recorded at Minx Project Recording Studio.

If this music were on the radio I would listen to it, but only if I couldn’t find anything better. If this is better than their first album, which is what their MySpace bio says, then maybe their third album will have the “it” factor this one seemed to lack.
