| Artist: | Lab Animals | | Title: | "Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars" | | Label: | Digital Dimension | | Reviewed by: | Vinnie Apicella | | Rating: | | | | | | | Such as the name would indicate, the sound of "Lab Animals" could be described in terms of being experimental in nature. The result is a hybrid of techno-oriented dance beats bred with disturbingly dark overtones. A thunderous shout and scream from a synth-based guitar and a tortured vocalist's scream of the often dreary interpretation of the Detroit scene this entity was bred from, their new creation is neither silent nor quiet. Disquieting maybe. Veterans of the Goth/industrial scene that belies such heralded pioneers as Ministry and Killing Joke, these "Lab Animals" are driven to madness in their aim at blackening the eye of a city that's stood nearly all it could stand from one generation to the next! | |
