Keyboardist "Chuck Leavell" is one of those I know him but I don't know him kind of guys. His band, "Sea Level," has been off the record scene for years, although Capricorn recently rereleased "On The Edge." You've probably heard and seen him many times, especially on tour with the "Rolling Stones" as their keyboard player. That alone says the guy can tickle the ivories with the best of them, and this album is an example.

This album has a collection of varied Christmas songs from traditional, to jazz and blues. It also has some seldom heard music and a new song. The title of the album is a line from "Hey Santa," a song writtten and sung by Chuck, which is full of the child-like spirit of Christmas - part greed, part wonder.

Chuck's terrific version of "Even Santa Gets The Blues" brought a smile while, his beautifully simple versions of "We Three Kings" and "Away In A Manger" were pure and innocent. "Bethlehem" reveals he has a wonderfully underused voice. Let someone else do the producing Chuck, give us another album.

No clinker's here - just an hour of Christmas spirit. It's "What's In The Bag."
