MAX CAVELERA
Emerges With New Band!
New Album Due Out In '98
From Roadrunner Record's Press Release Dated 11/24/97:

After parting ways with "Sepultura," the groundbreaking band he co-founded, "Max Cavalera" has emerged with a new band and a new album (both as yet untitled), due out in the Spring of '98.

Max and his new lineup of Marcello Dias (bass), Lucio Maia (Guitar/from Brazilian band Chico Science) and Roy Mayorga (drums) have recently completed recording at Indigo Ranch Studios in Malibu, CA with producer Ross Robinson (Korn, Deftones), and are currently mixing at Sountrack Studios in NYC with Any Wallace (Jane's Addiction, Nirvana's "Nevermind," Rage Against The Machine, Sepultura, Slayer, Limp Bizkit). Mario Caldato from Beastie Boys co-produced and co-mixed two songs. Guest musicians on the album include labelmates Burton C. Bell, Dino Cazares and Christian Olde Wolbers from Fear Factory, Eric Bobo from Cypress Hill, Chino from Deftones, Benji from Dub War and Fred Durst and DJ Lethal from Limp Bizkit.

"The thing about these guys is that they have the attitude that I wanted in a band," says Max, "which is to make music, play with fire, and not worry about foolish things. These guys have that. It feels great to go in the rehearsal room and get goose bumps about being in a group again."

With that said, the arrival of this album is possibly the most emotionally-charged, highly anticipated and intensely personal album of his career. More news to follow soon. . .
