Love 'em, hate 'em, never heard them, anyway you wanna look at it Roxx Gang's got a name that's synonymous with the excess and extravagance that was '80s Metal.  Call it cheesy (and few could argue?), yet through all the fluorocarbons scattered amongst the airwaves of the time there were a few bands with the look and the licks to survive.  And here's a "Best of" example from these Floridian floozies. "Bodacious Ta Ta's" is a thirteen song parental nightmare straight outta the bowels of adolescence and crude, the best of yesterday, covering some six records.  This is something of a new listening experience for me in terms of actually hearing this band -- surely a few of their "hits" crossed my path through the years, but by then, either the factions of the Metal scene were already entrenched or the path, well worn and tattered, was already bowing out to self-destructive realist traditions. But these guys know how to have fun on such carefree casual pleasures as "Hot For Love," a strong anthemic provider for leeway at the onset, "Time Bomb," and its G 'n R-like prowess, back-up vocs and underlying riff lending unexpected and inexhaustible support, easily making for that big time radio hit for the time…

Roxx Gang comes out shooting, hitting the mark in most cases. "Mojo Guru," "No Easy Way Out,"  "Too Cool For School," and sure nuff there's a few glossy-eyed ballads, though a little less of the one-dimensionality I first expected to hear for an all-night-long party Rock orgy…

Not discounting the face-full-o'-nipple ya receive upon popping out the disc (nice touch, boys) Roxx Gang's among the more versatile performers of the age -- got plenty o' the Stones', G n' R hooks and bad behavior going on, Rock & Soul in the classic Mike Monroe/Hanoi Rocks Glam/Trash tradition, pretty consistent album to album such as we might uncover from our brief trip album to album, presented in no particular order here.

Stay tuned for the new cut, "Spoonful," plus their uncensored "Star Trip" video for a behind the scenes look at why we all wanted to pick up a guitar and sing in the first place!
