Artist The Unseen
Title The Anger and the Truth
Label BYO Records
Reviewer Richard Proplesch
Rating
Not the usual fun ‘n frolic encoded here, as The Unseen are one of the most faithful, gob-lobbing, dog-collared spikers wandering the planet. Sonic kin to the original pit-of-sludge/slurred vocal chants of UK Subs and Exploited, the Unseen have obviously championed their resemblance to the initial surge of Britpunk, often drawing derogatory barbs, as well as a shitload of fans awestruck with their clamorous, old school noise. Their latest bombardment is saturated with unashamed, three- chord salvos, threatening anarchy with boot-stompin’ tunes like “Fight For A Better Life,” “No Master Race,” and “Give Into Hate.” Undoubtedly, the most PUNK sounding release reviewed here, but only because they resolutely refuse to give into or absorb any other musical style.
