Something remarkable here how this Richmond quartet roll
around in the rocky Virginia hills, swallow a chawful of
Anti-Seen's Dixie raunch, but then still end up sounding
like vintage Social Distortion through the speakers.
Relying on a fundamental three-chord drilling and a
heart full of hostility, Sixer obey Mike Ness'
commanding technique by keeping the rhetoric direct
("Tear It Down") and confrontational ("Sink Or Swim").
SoCal purists might detect a few scandalous Southern
rock detractions here, y'all. With the band emitting a
few backwoods yawlps in place of oi!s, and the
obligatory six-string solo extravagance, Sixer aren't
limited by hardcore, but they don't sound like
Grinderswitch, either. With barks of "the South will
rise again," this band may, indeed, be it's "saving
grace."
