Artist Godhead
Title 2000 Years of Human Errors
Label Posthuman/Priority
Reviewer Richard Proplesch
Rating
The mish-mesh of cyber industrial and meta- ballistic aggro is what the post-NIN clan desire. And the initial fashion statements indicate Godhead are using the same salon as Slipknot and Mudvayne. But when you have Marilyn Manson footing the bill as exec producer and then showing up for a vocal cameo, you can count on this noise to include some of his insidious hooks and gyrating synth melodies. For their 2k spin, Godhead opt for more programming-oriented material (think Prodigy) rather than crunchy extremes, although the lyrics gravitate toward towards the bleakest underbelly (“I Sell Society,” “I Hate Today”). Bothersome trend: radio has clung to their savage, morose-core cover of The Beatles’ “Eleanor Rigby,” the only throwaway of this powerful set.
