In the finest fuck off and die tradition, here we have one of the more
tasteless tidbits the great ol' state of Texas has to offer… The
Bulemics and their theme for the new generation of losers, weirdos and
societal rejects, the full title "Old Enough To Know Better… Too Young
To Care" and some serious outta the way Rock & Roll projectile this side
of sanity's gonna be hurlin' your way Jack!
"Harlot from Beyond"
carries the opening theme straight outta yesterday's B-movie flophouse
and in flamboyant fashion off roads into "Make Me Sick" and the title
track which by this time you're still sitting there with your mouth open
wondering how this mysterious cramp in your gut came about so suddenly…
Cramps are the least of your worries actually, this one should've come
with a warning label -- something I ordinarily don't advocate -- about
keeping a safe enough distance away to avoid severe trauma that might
otherwise affect the rest of your adult life… and one which you're in no
hurry to approach anyway 'cause you're simply having too much fun here -- I
mean these guys are brutal!
This is the music of rebellious youth-baby
boomer bombast usurped from the seventies and regurgitated for all you
heartless and horny devils waiting to exhume the bodily fluids of a
spit-shined childhood good fer nothing more than adolescent depravity
and an acne-covered existence wrought with poor grades and bad behavior…
And here we are doing the "Blood Orgy" and off on the tangent I go,
without realizing where I'm going or how I'm getting there, but I think
I'm havin' a good time. These guys groove like a mother-fucker and
they're a symbol of the unholiest of loathsome heroes only now in the
record books for yesterday's blood-covered stage and embittered effigy
that led astray and left for dead that which was pretty and Pop.
They're the reason we picked up a guitar in the first place… I mean, who
cared about knowing how to play, the real trick was being able to find
your way back home after this two minute long excursion down the
fretboard… pure trash Rock in a violently vulgar sorta way that wouldn't
have been appreciated when guys like Zappa were doing their thing on the
stage and today wouldn't be able to get the Hell out of its own way.
The Bulemics -- they're not good… but who cares? Any band whose got guys
named Gerry Atric, Ray Ject and Vic Vile and this lens-friendly chick on
the bowl, playing tunes like "Snuff Queen," "Die Tonight" and "Dial 'M'
For Murder" and they sound like they're breaking strings in between
every phrase… I mean, it's Rock and Roll, so what else is there?
