What's up Dog? Snoop is back with the old
school, profound doggy style. Snoop has come a long way to the
mutiple album portion of his career. The rap artists keep putting
them out one after the other. Well, Snoop upped his stock by
letting Master P produce this album. Snoop's personna is unique
and has established himself as one of rap's legends already.
His tone and laid back rythms are peerless.
Snoop's guest list is quite impressive:
long time confidant Dr. Dre, Xzibit, Warren G., Silk E. Fine,
and even Jewell popped in for a refrain or two. There's no one
better than the Dogpound on a Friday night, having a little "Gin
and Juice," laid back smoking a blunt, and maybe cruizin'
in a low rider down the beach. The association is unequivocal,
literally. Snoop has a style that in 20 years could come back
and receive an award for one of the legends of rap and still
rock the house.
"No Limit Top Dog" continues
to promote his smooth, mellow, funky beats that creates a nice
buzz. The gangsta is still sharp, creative, witty and even melodic
at times. The first track, "Buck'em," is definitely
a wakeup call. "Hello, I'm back!" Featuring Sticky
Fingers, Snoop immediately let's you know he's coming strong
with no regrets and no remorse. "Trust is a mutherfuckin
logo and so is temptation." Trust me is up to date, and
in line with the times as Snoop discusses the consequences of
gangster affiliations.
The best track unleashed is the #4 track,
"My Heat Goes Boom." Doggie style at its best. Purebred
endurance is displayed in this smooth, funky beat for all you
freaks out there, sure to be found in the hot club mixes.
The underground click is represented in
tracks with punchy flow and bam, movement, and sensational verbal
wizardry sure to get you high, such as "Down 4 My N's,"
"Betta Days," "B Please" and "Just Dippin'"
produced by Dr. Dre, "Somethin Bout Yo Bidness," "Doin'
Too Much" and Gansta Ride." Xzibit, Raphail Saadiq,
Silkk the Shocker and Mia X make guest appearances masterly produced
by Master P. The finisher is the Ghetto Symphony, the gang, freestyle,
everyone gets a piece of the action on the mic.
"SnoopDoggieDog," the man, is
back, and it's tough to meet the standards he has set for his
fans. Snoop, Calvin Broadus, has alot of meat, but it's not prime
rib, more like london broil. But all you dogs out there shouldn't
be disappointed, because if you listen long enough Snoop will
sink his teeth into you again. |
