"Mexican Radio." That's all I
have to say about "Doubledrive." Any band that can
crank out a cover of a good song without killing it in the process
deserves my respect. "Doubledrive" covered "Mexican
Radio" by "Wall Of Voodoo" as the closing track
for "1000 Yard Stare." It rocked. Let me change that:
The WHOLE CD rocked. I mean, the whole thing, from track one
to 87. Yes, even if there are 12 songs in the CD, "Mexican
Radio" was listed in both my car and my computer as track
number 87. Go figure.
Maybe a glitch, or maybe on purpose, but
it was fun to find out. I was listening to it while driving from
work and I was thinking that it was taking forever to return
back to track one (I did not even look at the disc, I just popped
it in). Then after a long silence, the last track started blasting
and the readout said "track87." For a very long second
I thought my car's CD was nuked.
"Doubledrive" rocks. It's one
hell of a hard rock band. This is the equivalent of throwing
together Black Sabbath, Metallica and Sound Garden. What else
can I say? I could go song by song, but that would be a waste
of your time. I just love the whole thing. |
