This five song EP from the Wisconsin natives - that's right - possesses a very riff-heavy quality in an otherwise Hardcore style. Highly underproduced, and performed, we can assume in a very modest condition, "Affliction" strikes out with devastating effectiveness at the listener, first with a "Lethal Injection," then once they're in a semi-conscious, mind-altered state, pound at 'em with the "Sledgehammer" which is where we're left off, an unpleasant ringing still occurring between our ears. "Affliction" leaves a lot to be desired, but considering they're still green, this is a respectable recording. Combining elements of metal and hardcore, but more toward the hardcore style, without including the slowed down version of "Perfet," they've taken the first step. And so it goes with them. Any preconceived notion that Wisconsin natives can do little more than farm and brew beer is wrong.
