Distinctly different in tone and character from "Obsession" and Chuscales' work, "Ottmar Liebert's" "Innamorare" is lighter and more offbeat from the usual Flamenco fare. This CD is a palate of summer adventure. Liebert shares his talent with us while borrowing from the world at large.

Inspired by a summer spent in Tuscany, he shares his feelings and energy with us in a series of musical vignettes. Introducing such elements as trumpets and a slide guitar, Liebert alters our perception of what Flamenco is about. His mastery of classical guitar is blended with sounds which carry aspects of other forms of world music.

The slide guitar Liebert employs underscores "Desert Elysium" and "Wings of Moonlight", which brings an almost lazy reverie to several of the tracks. The influence of New Mexico, his most recent home, has added a new facet to this gem. INNAMORARE is festive, light and moves swiftly along, closing on an almost somber note; a fading out, as though with the passage of time. No

cadenzas or inordinate flourishes here, just the simple clean tones of the music. Lovely.
