For a dance in the moonlight or a light dinner with a good friend, back it up with this collection of gifted flamenco artists. When listening to music for the first time, it is often the only thing I do. This time, I played it in the evening after dinner on the patio while enjoying a warming red wine on a cloudless night.

Each piece on this 12 cut album slides right into the next with fluidity and charm. From Chris Spheeris' tender rendition of "Cariño" to NovaMenco's flourishing and energetic "Tigris Palace", this CD is a delight to the senses! The artists on this CD are today's masters of flamenco. For those of you in the know, take a deep slow breath before reading this list: Jesse Cook, Oscar Lopez, Chuscales, José Luis Encinas, Ottmar Liebert, Ruben Romero, Energipsy, Govi, Chris Spheeris, Armik, NovaMenco, and Songhai 2.

Whether you want an album that will expose and introduce you to Flamenco for the first time, or a collection to listen to while relaxing after work, or just a CD to play in the background on endless repeat, this collection will soothe, energize and seduce you. "Obsession" provides a most enjoyable excursion.
