Whoa, whoa, wait a minute here… I opened up the inner sleeve and what my eyes beheld… right smack in the center of the band's stage photo the band's vocalist, shirtless, and completely without provocation, his massive gut hanging out with "Guilty" scrawled across it… Okay, style over substance right… or is it the other way around? Where are the words anyway? Enough of these live shots, let's go a little into detail here -- who are these guys and where do they come from? Obviously one of 'em came straight from the Pepperidge Farm Wholesale Outlet, but what of the band itself? Typically such Heavy Rock and poorly tuned ramblings traditionally have descended from up North, but not this time -- Silver Tongued Devil is a homegrown talent bore of the working class and steel mill environment of Pittsburgh… and now they're certainly noted for producing some of the better names in Street Punk/Hard Core talent I'm sure, it's just that aside from maybe Submachine, which these guys aren't far off from -- especially with this third tune, "Electrified," sheer brutality, and I mean that in only the most pleasant of terms.

"Red Eyed & Tongue Tied," basically describes what, 90% of American youth all in that one single phrase? It's definitely me about ten years ago -- but I quickly eliminated the problem in the quickest most efficient manner I thought possible -- I shaved my head and became a Monk! Well, maybe not either, but I fully expect quite a few skins to take to these guys before very long. Their style is pure boot to the ass Heavy Rock and stomp with a crass edge that decries the likes of our many old school veterans of the day -- nearly Motorhead in their intensity, somewhat Stooge-like in their melody and enough senseless macho shit to fit well with some of Scandinavia's most rude.

Built less of harmony, melody and… stupidity, Silver Tongued Devil -- and you won't miss the cover image of a she-Devil and Angel together in a clinch after a night with the old Jacks -- are built mainly upon power, speed and the whole brick and mortar tradition of doing loud, proud, nearly "OI," and "Go Down Fighting" barroom brawl style with great determination-and they're having a Hell of a lot of fun with it!
