"Sy Smith's" "psykosoul" on Hollywood records is definitely worth a listen. Sy's slick style of writing over organic yet urban tracks showcases a brilliant marriage of classic soul and hip hop.

The first track is a funny lick about the things that affect black people on the everyday, everyday. "Good N Strong" is how we like a lot of things in our life. "Gladly" is a sneaky track that has a twist in it to make sure you are listening. If you want to know what I'm talking about go out and pick up the CD. The next song is called "That Ring." It is an appealing song about appealing to that man of your dreams. "You're The One" is the description of that dream man from the previous song. Sy sings of all the virtues of that perfect man.

"Deep Sleep" is reminiscent of a young Diana Ross. The beautiful words and music bring a lovely feeling to the soul and lifts the heart. "Stop Askin,'" track number six on "psykosoul," is another soul song from the heart. Sy tells him that if he doesn't want her, to just "stop askin'." Then she continues on to tell us all the things he did to break her heart, she says in a very funky way, he "Broke My Heart."

The next three songs "Distance," "Can't," and "Talking To A Wall" are beautiful songs dealing with relationships at different stages. Each song is a distinct look through a window at a relationship situation. The last two tracks are recognizable takes from popular songs for which she gives a great performance.

Sy Smith has a wonderful voice and she writes incredible songs. I thoroughly enjoyed every track on this CD. "Sy Smith" has a strong voice and great vocal skills. I see lots of great things on the horizon for this artist. Check out her CD as soon as possible. She's HOT!
