"ACCESS to the MUSIC ZONE"

Dear Reader,

Last month we followed the growth of an Indie label from it's inception to where it is today. This month we're back to a LOT of new music! Our Feature Artist, MACHINE HEAD'S new release "The More Things Change," scheduled to hit stores March 25, 1997, is even bigger than their debut release "Burn My Eyes." This band has matured and evolved during their tour experience, and the new album is a real treat. There's also a lot of great information on the band itself in the interview I had with guitarist Logan Mader.

We also have some great concert coverage this month of "Type O Negative," and one of their opening bands "Drain S.T.H." "TON" was back in Phoenix to play to the fans that missed them during "U-Fest" last October when a near riot occurred during "The Deftones" set and "Type O" never played. Their loyal fans were out in force for this concert, and "TON" sure made the wait worth while. "Drain S.T.H." is a new Heavy Metal band from Sweden that surprised everyone with their set. This is one of the best metal bands I've heard in a long time, and they're gaining more and more fans everywhere they go.

A couple of new debuts in the punk/pop/rock ("Protein") and hardcore ("Coal Chamber") genres also hit the streets recently, and we have coverage of their new releases, and and interview with "Protein." There's also an update on "Love In Reverse" (November's Feature Artist) after their appearance on "Turning Point" in the "Late Breaking News" column, and they're back in the studio, hard at work on album number two, with a tentative 7/1/97 release date.

We have reviews of even more new music from several bands, and Staff Writer Robert Lewis is back with his World Beat column and some new releases there as well. The "Linkster" is back with some great suggestions on Internet Music Links to check out, and we have some new sponsors for you to visit.

As always, we'd love some reader feedback, so please send your comments, questions, or anything else you can think of to ACCESS to the MUSIC ZONE at marellg@music-reviewer.com

We're already working on even more exciting new things for next month's issue, but in the mean time, See You In Cyber Space!
