One thing I'll say about these guys, a
couple minutes into it rhe album, and a few colorful sentences
later, you get the idea that they just don't give a shit. "The
Decline," however, makes a definite statement for sure,
albeit throughout one ambitious eighteen-minute outburst that
tears through the seams of our perceived life, liberty and pursuit
of a warped sense of - happiness? "NOFX" makes a lot
of sense and if there's one way I've found to truly judge a worthwhile
punk band besides the simple three chord agitation and atypical
anti-establishment bashing, it's all in what they say. I mean
all I needed to see was "One more pill to kill the pain,
living through conformity," and they've got my respect.
"The Decline" is not hard to
figure out and on the way through our somewhat disillusioning
descent here, it's all laid out in an active barrage broken into
neatly packaged little sequences and a verbal assault second
to none. Welcome to the land of the free. . . |
