On their 6th album, the most successful duo in Country music history again land another winner of a disc. To get what little not-so-great news out of the way first, there are three near-miss songs on this CD. But keep in mind, a near miss from these giants, who sing some of the MOST solid and flat-out awesome music in modern country today, is worth a blockbuster from many lesser artists. Following in the footsteps of their Mega-Smash "My Maria," the boys decided to pick another seemingly off-the-wall song to cover, John Waits' 80's hit " Missing You." While they give their heart and soul to sell this tune, and almost make it, hearing the crooners of "Brand New Man" wail a junior prom song for those of us who graduated from high school in the '80s is just TOO Jarring. "Temptation #9" tries so hard to be fun that it ends up being a tad silly, and the ballad "Don't Look Back Now" pales in comparison to two excellent songs in the same format on this generally killer disc - the sweet "You"ll Always Be Loved By Me" and the powerful "I Love You More."

But, to reiterate, B & D on most of the album are just as amazing as usual. The four highlights of the disc include the irresistible and surely #1 bound "Goin' Under Gettin' Over You," the gorgeous "Hurt Train," the breathtaking, and again surely #1 bound, "The Trouble With Angels," and the beautiful story song "Texas And Norma Jean."

There are so many reasons most of us have already played the first 5 Brooks & Dunn albums to death, like stunning material, killer harmonies and catchy hooks. This album will be no exception on my stereo, that's for sure.
