At the age of 26, Jermaine Dupri (JD) has achieved what most can only dream of. A successful producer, CEO of SoSo Def Records, and with the release of his debut album "Life In 1472," he adds recording artist to his list of accomplishments. Released to critical acclaim, the CD features many of hip-hop's best, including Lil’ Kim, Nas, DMX, Jay-Z and many others.

As a producer, and now recording artist, JD is often compared to Puff Daddy, due to the fact they are producers who now have albums of their own. One important point that separates the two, JD is a songwriter who writes his own rap and lyrics. On "Life In 1472," JD exhibits the his skills with standout tracks like the club hit "Money Ain’t A Thang" featuring Jay-Z, "Going Home With Me" featuring Keith Sweat, and the up-tempo "All That’s Got To Go" featuring DaBrat and LaTocha Scott of "Xscape." Throughout JD’s decade of producing and songwriting, he’s had a hit record each year in either the R&B or Hip-Hop categories. Not even successful producers Babyface, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis can lay claim to such a feat.

With the well timed release of remix singles, "Life In 1472" will see life well into 1999.
