"Toby Keith" expertly spans a gap between pretty-boy hat acts, who sing with all the country sincerity of a musical Bill Clinton, and those more pure- country folks who still infuriatingly confound mainstream country radio. From this excellent balancing act, Toby has deservedly become one of the most solid hitmakers today, beginning with his already classic "Shoudlv'e been A cowboy," which of course is included on this collection of his hits.

All of Toby's stellar cuts are here, from the thrilling "We Were In Love," to the enaging, and almost surreal (especially if you've seen the video), "Dream Walkin' " to the bouncy current hit "Getcha Some. . .," everything is here for the Toby fans, or for anyone who wants to experience some solid modern country.

HOWEVER, I personally feel when Toby ventures too far into good-ol'-horne- boy territory, instead of being sexy or fun, he turns into an idiot. (And thus loses a star in this rating.) While his press material says these are some of his most requested songs, I personally feel that if I NEVER again hear such dreck as "A Little Less Talk" and "You Ain't Much Fun," then my radio listening experience from here on out would be much MORE fun!!!

No matter, this collection is worth all the great songs on it. Toby, hopefully, will garner some new fans from the album, adding to his already huge following
